Snoonu is looking for a Revenue Protection & Fraud Prevention Specialist to safeguard the business
against financial fraud and revenue leakage across our markets. You will investigate suspicious activity
flagged by our banking partners, monitor for abuse of app functionality (promotions, refunds,
cancellations, wallet, referrals), and help build the data-driven controls needed to catch issues before they
escalate. Given the volume of Arabic-language correspondence involved with banks, government bodies,
and customers or merchants under investigation, fluency in Arabic is essential for this role. You will work
closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, and our banking partners to close risk gaps as Snoonu scales.
🛠 What You’ll Get Your Hands On:
- Investigate Bank-Flagged Fraud: Own and respond to fraud alerts and suspicious-activity notifications received from banking partners and drive every case through to resolution.
- Monitor App & Promotion Abuse: Build monitoring and detection capability for abuse of app functionality, including promo/discount stacking, referral fraud, wallet top-up fraud, cancelled-order compensation abuse, and refund fraud.
- Close Revenue Data Gaps: Partner with the Technical / Product teams to identify where incomplete integration between BigQuery/AMS and ERP creates blind spots that could be exploited, and prioritize fixes accordingly.
- Liaise with Banks & Authorities: Serve as the primary point of contact for banks, payment partners, and relevant government or regulatory bodies on fraud and financial-crime matters.
- Build Fraud Prevention Controls: Design and implement rules-based and analytical controls — thresholds, anomaly flags, velocity checks — to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions and payouts before they are processed.
- Lead Case Investigations: Conduct end-to-end investigations of suspected fraud cases, gather evidence, and prepare clear case files and reports for management, Legal, and external stakeholders as needed.
- Partner with Product & Engineering: Advise on the fraud and abuse risk of new app features, promotions, and marketplace functionality before launch.
- Track & Report Fraud Trends: Maintain a fraud and revenue-leakage register, and report trends, root causes, and financial exposure to Finance leadership.
Support Policy & Training: Develop internal policies and training materials to help Merchant, Support, and Finance teams recognize and escalate suspicious activity.
🧙♂️ The Magic You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Criminology, or a related field; a fraud or risk certification (CFE, CAMS) is a strong advantage.
- Language: Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written) — required for liaising with banks, government bodies, and Arabic-speaking customers or merchants during investigations.
- Experience: 4–6 years of experience in fraud investigation, risk management, or revenue assurance, ideally within fintech, e-commerce, banking, or a marketplace environment.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills (SQL, Excel, BigQuery or similar) to identify patterns and anomalies across large transaction datasets.
- Investigative Mindset: Demonstrated ability to investigate complex cases, gather evidence, and produce clear, defensible findings.
- Banking & Payments Knowledge: Understanding of banking fraud typologies (card fraud, chargebacks, money-laundering red flags) and payment-ecosystem risk.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Comfortable working with Product, Engineering, Legal, and external stakeholders to close risk gaps.
- Discretion & Judgment: High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive, confidential investigations.
- Adaptability: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, multi-country environment where controls are still maturing.
